About Us

11 years ago, my husband and I, went to the mall to purchase a cd for our upcoming wedding. We stopped in the pet store to look at all the cute puppies. That's when we met Ripley. Ripley is a Bichon Frise and she was born on my birthday. We asked if we could hold her and that was all it took. Ripley came home with us that day. We named her Ripley because we couldn't believe that we had bought a dog. I don't think we ever got the cd that we originally went to the mall to find. Yes, we bought Ripley from a pet store in the mall, something we would now not recommend. Ripley most likely came from a puppy mill. When we got her home we discovered that she had kennel cough and had to be taken to the vet. The vet examined her and also told us that she was a runt and would most likely not be able to have puppies so we had her spayed as soon as possible. This was unfortunate for our neighbors, who had gone out and purchased a male Bichon with the hopes of breeding them.

Ripley instantly became an integral part of our lives. She has several nick names, Tripley for one, coined by the guy, who installed our stone wall, and chronically found Ripley under his feet and Ripperdoos, coined by a very good friend of ours. We liked the sound of Ripperdoos and decided to open our own pet store. Ripperdoos Pet Store was born. Ripley is now almost 12 years old, is missing some teeth (a chronic problem for this breed) but she's still going strong. She likes to bark at the mailman, chase her ball and eat biscuits. She recently has taken up chasing deer in the back field.

Ripley is also a trained therapy dog through Therapy Dogs International. She has been a therapy dog for 4 years now.

Very recently we acquired another dog, Cookie Dough. Cookie is a Shitzu and she was adopted. So far she is adjusting well to her new home.

We are pet lovers and we will strive to bring you some of the best pet products on the market.
